So as many of you know from my Facebook status today I am in the running for Charleston’s Best Abs. The contest is put on by a local Magazine here in Charleston, called Oblique Magazine. Now before I tell you to vote for me I want to tell you why this means so much to me. This time last year I moved to Charleston, SC and picked up my first Oblique Magazine. I read through the magazine and discovered a page full of people with amazing Abs. It was also at the same time I started Jamie Eason’s LiveFit Trainer. I thought having abs would be such an accomplishment. I wasn’t exactly sure how I was going to get these Abs ,but I made it my goal to be in the magazine for the following year. This was a great goal to help me eat clean and exercise.

So this was me this time last year. No signs of Abs here!

Trying to get these Abs that I wanted so badly wasn’t easy. I had to change my diet completely. I started by giving up the following:
  1. Candy
  2. Sugar in my coffee
  3. Milk
  4. Cheese
  5. Fast Food
  6. Wine
  7. Bread (bagels and wheat)
  8. Packaged Meals
  9. Chips, goldfish and pretzels
  10. Cereal (high in sugar)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Besides giving up these items, I also focused on Eating Clean. I truly believe Abs are made in the Kitchen. You can do 1,000 crunches a night, but if your diet isn’t right your Abs will not come out of hiding.

So there you have it. Winning this contest isn’t just about getting on the cover. A year a ago I had no Abs and now I am in a contest. I let go of any doubt I had and worked hard. No matter what goals you have, you can reach them. Find what is important to you and go for it!
