Learning how to Eat Clean can be a little overwhelming at first. It can be hard to change habits you have been doing for so long. Simple things like adding sugar to your coffee or putting butter on your toast may be things you do without thinking and have become a daily habit for you. When I first started eating clean it didnt take long before I realized this was a lifestyle change and I wanted my family to be apart of it as well. If I was giving my body the best foods possible I wanted the same for my family. If you are new to clean eating here are some tips on how to get started.

  1. Avoid packaged foods and eat natural foods as much as possible (fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains and lean meats)
  2. Read labels- if you cant pronounce it or you don’t know what it is, its probably not good for you. I try to stick with 5 ingredients or less.
  3. Eat 5-6 small meals everyday every 2-3 hours.

If you are trying to incorporate clean eating into your home, try adding in clean meals slowly. You don’t even need to tell them it’s clean, trust me most of the time they won’t know. Help educate your family about why it is important to eat clean and try not to be too pushy. My husband still has his chips and pizza, but also enjoys my clean dinners and protein shakes. It’s all about making positive changes even if its just one change.
