I am back from my Hilton Head vacation with my family. It was a nice break with fun, food and little fitness. My husband and I did manage to run on the beach one morning and ride bikes as a family, so I guess there was some fitness. We had to be back early this morning, because I had to teach a water class at 9:30 a.m. It was such a beautiful morning to be in the water. Tonight I will do a back and bis workout and maybe a little cardio if I have enough energy. My little guy is teething so things have been kinda rough. That reminds me I want to introduce you to my little family. My husbands name is Jay and we have been married for 3 years. Our little guy will be 2 years old in October and his name is Jeremiah. They also love to workout and eat clean as well. Yes my 2 year eats clean. Why wouldn’t he!? It’s not just for me, it’s for the whole family.
This is from a fitness shoot we did last week!
Here is a picture of what Jeremiah typically eats for breakfast:
- Greek Yogurt
- Raisins
- Blueberries,Strawberries or Bananas
- Cheerios or Oatmeal
This kid can eat. I eat about 6 times and day and he probably eats double that. When I make his meals I always try and make sure he has a fruit or veggie carb and protein. He is not a big fan of veggies so I will sometimes make him fruit smoothies and throw some spinach in. The vegetable he does like is broccoli so we have a lot of that.
At what age did your son start eating clean? I thought that younger kids were supposed to get more fat in their diets? My son is 40% on the weight and 70% for height so i don’t want him to drop any weight. My son eats our clean dinners but get non-clean lunches at childcare. We were bringing his lunch to childcare but found it hard to keep it up since they don’t allow any nuts and he prefers their non-clean food. Do you have any suggestions on packed lunches for little ones?
On a side note my guy will eat veggies if they are fresh (will not eat them reheated) so I guess I am luck on that front.
Hey Melinda! My son is 2 years old and at the last well check he was in the 95% for both weight and height. I actually started making his food when he was 6 months old. He still drinks milk and gets healthy fats from the olive oil and coconut oil and cook with. A good packed lunch for my son is turkey lunch meat (applegate brand), blueberries and crackers or rice cakes. He still loves his goldfish so we do those as well.
Oh BTW my son is 1
