After my biceps and triceps workout the other day I did some box jumps with my friend. Now I was a little adamant about doing these. Why? We started with 12 risers! I took on the challenge and was able to do 10 reps. We then pushed ourselves a little more and did 13 risers and 10 reps. I could definitely feel the burn after the second set. But we decided to do one more set 14 risers!!! I was able to do 7 before my legs decided they had enough. It was a great way to end a workout. When you think you can’t do something challenge yourself. You will be amazed at what you can accomplish.
Following the workout an Apple pie protein shake. One of my favorites this summer. I am a big fan of apple pie, so I decided to make a protein shake that would taste just like it. Well close to it. I drink this post workout or as a small meal during the day. Take the protein powder out of it if you want and tell the kids its a homemade milkshake!
- 1 small apple peeled and cut
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1/2 tsp raw honey
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon and nutmeg
